In memory of Professor IVAN SPASSOV - one of the most outstanding bulgarian musicians - a composer, conductor, teacher amd publicist, on June 2, 1997 a foundation, bearing his name was established at the Academy of Music and Dance Art - Plovdiv.
The ultimate objective of the foundation is to preserve and distribute Ivan Spassov's works, to stimulate research work on his composer's style, as well as to explore Ivan Spassov - both as a person and a musician.
An essential part of the foundation activity is organization of concerts, seminars, conferences, radio and TV broadcasts, audio and video recordings, CD releases - all of these being brilliant artistic signs of the richness and variety of the composer's work.
"Ivan Spassov" foundation is open towards young musicians willing to have contacts in Bulagria and to expand their musical knowledge and experience. The foundation cooperates with similar organizations, institutions and public formations in Bulgaria and abroad.
